Legionella Control Program

______________

 1) This process begins with a Legionella Risk Assessment carried out at premises. This is a
report on the likelihood of Legionella bacteria incubating in the system and the risk of an
infection occurring.

2) The Next step is to set up a control program and carry out any remedial works, such as
cleaning and disinfecting the Cold Water Storage Tank and the rest of the water system.

3) A standard control program consists of

  • Weekly Flushing regimes
  • Monthly Temperature checks
  • Quarterly Shower Disinfections
  • 6 monthly Sampling
  • Annual Thermostatic Mixing Valve Servicing
  • Annual reviewing of the Control program

4) Each client will have different needs and wants, so each control program is catered for and
a Log Book is left on site to ensure records are always accessible to the client.
